BlueCrest College, Ghana conducted its 18th matriculation ceremony to welcome hundreds of students who joined its various tertiary programmes.
Matriculation ceremony is a bi-annual event that takes place to officially register new students into various tertiary programmes offered at BlueCrest College. More than 270 students successfully matriculated from various degree, diploma and certificate programmes in ICT, Business, Fashion & Design, Mass Communication etc. Two startups were invited to interact with the students at this matriculation ceremony that took place on April 18, 2019.
The Rector of BlueCrest College, Prof. Sunil Kumar Roy who was also Chairman of the event, delivered a motivating speech for students.
“My message for all you students is simple. Never forget the inputs and outputs of life, no matter what your goals are. The inputs of life can be remembered as 4Ps - Purpose, Personality, Process and Promises. On the other hand, the outputs of life are Respect, Honesty, Trust and Loyalty,” Dr. Roy said in his speech.
Ms Edna Asante, Deputy Registrar, guided students on various procedures related to the registry, while Ms Mary Sassah (HoD, Business) informed them about academic affairs.
Academic Head of the School of Fashion & Design Mr Rajesh Kumar Pillai explained the various elements of the BlueCrest campus life while the Registrar Mr Sujith Jayaprakash led the oath ceremony and section on events.
A team of security officials from the Immigration Service, also joined the programme and offered guidance on immigration details for international scholars. Many of these students were from neighbouring countries like Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso etc
Two startups - PennySmart and World Venture - were invited to the event. PennySmart representatives spoke to the students on the importance of financial planning and education that must start as early as possible, and shared tips and ideas on how to plan financial resources smartly as a student.
The team from World Venture encouraged students to travel whenever they could, in order to widen perspective and discover new possibilities.
The matriculation ceremony concluded with a lunch for students, staff and faculty members. Many students expressed that they were looking forward to starting their academic programme at the prestigious institution.
