An experienced head within the Hearts of Oak set-up for this season’s Caf Confederation Cup, Phliip Boampong, is hoping the club can continue their good run this weekend.
The Phobians travel to face Mali’s Djoliba at the State 26 Mars in Bamako at 3pm GMT kickoff in Bamako on Friday.
Hearts have are still in the competition after eliminating Benin’s AS Police as well as Olympique de Ngor of Senegal and are two hurdles away from the last 8 of this year’s competition.
“We are working hard and the results are going our way,” the former Al-Shoallah centre-back told supersport.com.
“It is our hope and target to go as far as the group stages. In the previous rounds, we were privileged to host the first leg encounters and so, helped us to know how our opponents play so we strategize well for them in the second leg.”
“This time, we are going away first and I hope we get to watch them as we prepare for the game on Friday.”
Meanwhile the club’s medics have allayed fears over the availability of right-back Owusu Bempah who suffered a knock in Sunday’s league win over All Stars. He has since shaken off the pains and trained well with the side at the Accra Stadium.
Hearts plan to leave Accra for Bamako on Wednesday morning ahead of the Friday evening encounter.
