The Bono East Regional Police Command has launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a sub-chief at Tanoso, near Techiman in the region.
Tanoso, a farming community, had been thrown into a state of grief following the alleged murder of Nana Owusu Korkor, the Akwamehene (sub-chief) of the area.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Appiah Danquah, the Bono East Regional Station Officer of the police administration, confirmed the incident in an interview at Techiman on Tuesday.
He said some farmers discovered the lifeless body of the late Nana Owusu Korkor lying prostrate with some gunshot wounds on his back on Sunday, 8, 2025, around 0730 hours, saying the body of the deceased had since been deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
ASP Danquah said, though no arrest had been made so far, the police were investigating the incident and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
