The Bosomtwi District Directorate of Education has finished printing question papers to enable pupils write their first term examinations as soon as school re-opens in January.
All question papers had been printed and bundled with the names of each of 120 schools in the districts boldly inscribed on them.
When the Daily Graphic visited the offices of the Bosomtwi Education, the District Education Director, Mr. William Awuni, said all logistics were set for the pupils to write their examination as soon as the school resumes on January 8, 2013
About 24,000 pupils from over 120 schools in the various Kindergartens, Primary and Junior High Schools in the Bosomtwe District were unable to write their first term examination due to lack of funds to print examination papers .
Though both teachers and pupils were adequately prepared for the common examination, the delay in the issuing of their capitation grant from government prevented them from joining other colleagues in writing the examination.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Directorate of Education has set up a three member committee to investigate the circumstances that made it impossible for the pupils to write the examination before they vacated for the Christmas holidays.
The committee is Chaired by the Kumasi Metropolitan Director of Education, Naana Abudu .
The two other members whose names were not provided were selected from the Conference of Directors of Educations, (CODE), Ashanti.
The committee is also expected to find a lasting solution to the problem to avoid future occurrence.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the Regional Director of Education, Mr. Sarfo Katanka said they were waiting for the recommendations of the Committee to determine their next line of action.
He assured of their commitment to promote quality education in the region and therefore advised parents to offer them to needed support
