An Adentan Circuit Court has remanded a building contractor into police custody over charges of trespass and threat of harm.
The accused, Carlos Kwabena Allston, is alleged to have unlawfully entered the premises of the complainant, Mr Wise Roland Horgli, and threatened to harm him.
Allston has denied the charges and is expected to reappear before the court on January 27, 2026.
Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo told the court that the complainant was a businessman in Accra, while the accused was a building contractor residing at East Legon.
The prosecution said in 2021, the complainant purchased a four-unit apartment from the accused at a cost of US$450,000, which was paid in full.
After the purchase, the complainant asked Allston, who was occupying one of the apartments, to vacate the premises to allow for renovation works.
In 2025, the accused allegedly informed the complainant of his intention to return to the property to undertake construction works. The complainant declined the request.
Prosecution said the accused became unhappy and threatened to enter the premises, destroy part of the property and erect another structure.
On December 30, 2025, Allston allegedly visited the property unannounced.
Upon learning of his presence, the complainant warned him to stay away from the premises, but the accused refused to comply.
The prosecution further told the court that on January 14, 2026, Allston was arrested.
In his investigation caution statement, he admitted selling the property to the complainant and visiting the premises on December 30, 2025, claiming he went there to check on his scaffolding.
