Braimah Kamoko better known as Bukom Banku deflated the powers of Michael Okine- Aryittey Powers, to win the much talked about , non-title Cruiser weight bout at the Accra Sports Stadium, Thursday.
Banku in a unanimous point decision walloped the walloping mouth of Aryittey Powers to keep his unbeaten run after 27 bouts intact.
It was a bout clothed with heavy brags and threats of knock-outs by both pugilists but on the night it was the Banku man who rose to the occasion with quick feet and heavy punches that got Powers dazed for most parts.
Confindence Hiagbe scored the bout 117-100; Roger Barnor scored it 119-100 and Emmanuel Brenya scored it 120-108 all in favour of Banku.
And while Banku failed to knockout Powers and bury him in the coffin he brought, he sure did enough to win the bout and the bragging rights which he would now carry back to Bukom.
For a bout that had made all the headlines, some for the wrong reasons, the Accra Sports Stadium was filled to capacity even on a Thursday night.
It promised to be exciting and electric with the two combatants going at each other. It turned out however to be a one-sided contests with Banku taking a stroll and toying with Powers at some point.
With 26 bouts and 26 wins, Braimah Kamoko looked the more confident of the two boxers when the bell went for hostilities to begin.
He controlled the bout with his well timed, heavy shots and upper cuts that unsettled Powers.
