One person has been shot and severely wounded in a suspected chieftaincy dispute at Bunkpurugu in the Northern region.
The victim Nimeng Kambad is said to have been shot on his farm.
The incident follows a protracted chieftaincy dispute between two royal gates there which has already claimed two lives.
David Yoavbat, father of the victim, said Kambad was found lying by a donkey cart seriously wounded.
The donkey was untied from the cart and it was nowhere to be found, suspecting it might have been stolen by his son’s assailant.
Member of Parliament for Bunkpurugu, Solomon Namlit is calling on the Northern Regional House of Chiefs to resolve the dispute.
He appealed to them to expedite the resolution process and hope a mutually satisfactory decision would be reached by the chiefs.
