Two more persons are said to have died in Saturday’s accident involving a 207 Benz bus and a cargo truck.
This brings the number of reported deaths to 10 - five males and five females.
Eight people died on the spot on Saturday when the cargo truck collided with a 207 Benz bus at Buoho on the Kumasi-Techiman road.
ASP Quansah, the Offinso Divisional Police Commander, told Joy News: “As at [Sunday] morning when investigators went to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the information we received is that two more females have also passed away.”
He noted that police preliminary investigations have revealed that the cargo truck driver was “over speeding”, and his attempt to do “wrongful overtaking” resulted in the accident.
He said the driver of the cargo truck who was also treated but discharged was in police custody assisting in investigations
