Nigerian artiste Burna Boy has for the second time won the BET Award for Best International Act.
This year he beat DR Congo's Innoss’B, South Africa's Sho Madjozi, UK's Stormzy and Dave, France's Ninho and S.Pri Noir ago is also from France to win the award consecutively.
Since the Award was held live in L.A. Live, Los Angeles, U.S. but streamed virtually due to social distancing protocols Burna Boy was unable to go.
However he accepted the award from the comfort of his home in Nigeria.
"Second time and I appreciate it. I will like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was admission to turn the nation of Africa into a dominated nation."
"Now is the time to return and go back to the royalty that we were, because, in order for black lives to matter, Africa must matter,” Burna Boy said in his acceptance speech.
The ceremony also paid tributes to Kobe Bryant, Little Richard and featured performances by Alicia Keys, Chloe x Halle and Megan Thee Stallion among others.
Beyoncé was also honoured with the Humanitarian Award for her decades-long commitment to philanthropy.
