Ghanaians who are anxious to experience the traffic-free Bus Rapid Transit system will have to wait for just eighteen more months.
The BRT project is aimed at easing traffic congestion in the country especially for patrons of public transport.
It involves the creation of a bus-lane for the exclusive use of mass transit buses and free of the vehicular congestion common on Accra’s roads.
Communications Specialist Kojo Antwi said contractors are already on site.
He said plans are far advance for the construction of a flyover on the Graphic Road where the rail line crosses the road.
The Urban Transport Project which is implementing the system says eighty percent of pre-construction work has so far been completed.
