The Bank of Ghana is cautioning the public against dealing with the Capital Builders Network, a Tema-based company said to be involved in deposits mobilization. The Daily Graphic newspaper reported in its Monday edition that the company was operating a scheme similar to the now defunct Pyram and R5 susu scheme through which clients lost millions of cedis in deposits. According to a statement from the Central Bank, the company has no license to mobilize deposits. It however says it is conducting further investigations into the background of the directors and the activities of the company. The statement concludes that “the Bank of Ghana is concerned about the possible losses that patrons can suffer and cautions the public to be mindful of this in its dealings.” The bank is also urging the public to furnish it with information they may have on the operations of similar companies. The managers of Capital Builders Network however insist there is nothing questionable about their operations. Source: Joy News/Ghana
