Ladi Nylander, who is vying to become national chairman of the Convention People's Party (CPP)has said that voting for a new breed of CPP officials would be a step towards victory in the 2008 Elections and beyond.
The aspirant, a former president of the American Chamber of Commerce and an international businessman appealed to CPP delegates to vote for new, dynamic and visionary people to lead the party to victory in 2008 in the party's next congress.
Mr. Nylander, who was addressing a CPP zonal constituency meeting at Obuasi said he could successful lead the party if voted for as its chairman.
He said "I have offered myself for the position of national chairman of the party because I have seen that new breed of people are prepared to help move the party forward."
Mr. Nylander said he was a successful international businessman and wanted to be given the chance to put to the disposal of the party his experience.
He gave the assurance that he would ensure the proper organization of the party when elected as chairman.
Mr. Nylander said he would organize the party to win the 2008 Election adding "I am not interested in becoming a national chairman in opposition."
He said a partnership between him and Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, who is vying to become the party's presidential candidate would be suitable for the rebirth of CPP.
"Dr Nduom is somebody I know and one thing about him and me is that we seem to share the same views on most issues."
He said they were not vying for the positions because of monetary gains but "a call to serve the nation adding "we are offering ourselves to you to give us the power to change your lives and the country for the better."
