President of the Minister's Conference of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Reverend Dr. Charles Owusu-Ampofo, has issued a compelling call to Ghana's political parties, urging them to prioritise unity over division as they gear up for the 2024 elections.
In a resonant message that strikes at the core of the nation's values, Dr. Owusu-Ampofo emphasised the need for safeguarding peace and upholding the sanctity of the beloved country.
He underscored that a fragmented political party is ill-equipped to effectively lead the people it aspires to represent.
"If we undermine the foundation of peace today, we jeopardize the legacy for future generations," he implored.
Recognizing the influential role of the youth in shaping the nation's future, Dr. Owusu-Ampofo called on young members of political parties to exhibit a respectful demeanor, foster inclusivity, and embrace diverse perspectives.
"They should be capable of accommodating differing views," he stressed.
His inclusive message extended to both the ruling NPP and the opposition NDC, urging unity and discouraging internal conflicts.
"No political party should engage in internal strife," Dr. Owusu-Ampofo declared, highlighting the imperative for a cohesive and united nation. "As a nation, we must stand together and avoid internal discord. Unity is paramount."
Reminding Ghanaians that their present actions would shape the legacy for future generations, Dr. Owusu-Ampofo emphasised the enduring importance of preserving the nation's integrity.
"We will depart to eternity one day, but the nation will endure for posterity," he concluded.
His words resonate as a timely reminder for all Ghanaians to transcend political divisions and collaborate for a brighter, unified future.
As the nation approaches a pivotal political juncture, Dr. Owusu-Ampofo's message of unity and harmony aligns with the intrinsic spirit of Ghana, offering a beacon of hope for a tranquil and prosperous future.
