The two-time VGMA Artiste of the Year, in a tweet Tuesday lauded President Akufo-Addo’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic but implored him to relax the restrictions on borders.
Mr president @NAkufoAddo you’ve done so well with how you handling this pandemic , we appreciate your effort 🙏🏿 But please can we open the boarders for at least a day or two in between time for citizens stuck outside to get back pls 🙏🏿

President Akufo-Addo announced a closure of all of Ghana’s borders exactly a month ago. Only cargo is permitted into the country since he gave the directive.
The move is aimed at stopping the importation of new cases of coronavirus into the country.
Over 1000 returnees were mandatorily quarantined on the night the borders were closed; 105 of them tested positive for the virus, justifying government’s move.
On Sunday, in his 7th televised address to the nation since the Covid-19 crisis began, Akufo-Addo said the borders will remain closed.
Sarkodie himself has been affected as he is stuck overseas following the closure of borders.
He, however, lifted a three-week lockdown on Accra and other parts of the country.
Schools and other institutions remain closed and social gathering remain banned.
Meanwhile, 1,042 cases have been confirmed by the Ghana Health Service with 99 recoveries and nine fatalities.
