The partners, drawn from Ghana, South Africa, Europe and the Middle East were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch provided by the Labadi Beach Hotel at the Accra (AICC) International Conference Centre before being conveyed in luxurious coaches to the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium to witness the historic even at the expense of Canon.
The guests, who included representatives of Canon's treasured customers, comprised 150 top corporate clients drawn from the large clientele of Oman Fofor Trading Company Ltd and Protech Productions, who are the official distributors of the wide range of Canon products in Ghana.
Fifty other Canon partners came from South Africa, Europe and the Middle East to join in the celebration and foster a closer relationship between the stakeholders.
The Canon guests converged at the Silver Star Tower, in the precincts of the Ghana International Airport as early as 1030 hours on Sunday January 20, and were conveyed by buses, piloted by a police dispatch rider to the AICC, where they socialized and dined.
To facilitate their comfort, all members of the contingent received VIP tickets, which enabled them to watch the grandeur of traditional display that preceded the opening match and the match itself, between Ghana and Guinea.
After the 2-1 victory of the Black Stars over Guinea, the Canon delegation returned to the AICC to celebrate the victory over snacks refreshments served once more, by the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The Canon delegation returned to the Silver Star Tower aided by a police siren that ensured safety and unhindered passage.
In addition to the largesse of the opening day, Canon has also distributed over two hundred VIP complementary tickets to its clients nationwide to enable them to watch various matches at all the venues.
The major sponsor would also make available more complementary tickets through their local agents to many more customers, while plans have been concluded to offer a similar treat for another set of its clients at the closing ceremony.
