Most Reverend Peter Atuahene, Catholic Bishop of Goaso Diocese has called on Christians to spearhead moral crusade to uplift the country's image to attract more foreign investors to boost the economy.
He urged Ghanaians to devote their time and energy to support God's work and promote virtues of peace and harmony that were crucial for national development.
Bishop Atuahene made the call at "Our Lady of Victory" grotto at Manfo-Ashanti in the Ahafo-Ano North District.
More than 6,000 Catholics and non-Catholics thronged the grotto to celebrate this year's "Feast Day of Mary's Assumption into Heaven" an event observed annually by the Catholic Church.
Nana Kwame Ntim II, Omanhene of Manfo Traditional Area, appealed to the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Ghana Tourist Board and the Catholic Church to collaborate to develop the Manfo Grotto into a spiritual, tourist and retreat centre.
He said deplorable road network, a car park, communication facilities and provision of potable water were the major problems facing the town.
Mr Osei Sekyere, Tano-South District Chief Executive advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used as pawns in the hands of some adventurous politicians to foment trouble to disturb the country's peace.Source: GNA
