The Member of Parliament for Zebilla, Mr. John Ndebugre says the CDD-Ghana was being “charitable” to PNC by giving it one per cent in its Afro-Barometer survey report for 2008.He said the current organisation of the party was so poor that it could not make any significant improvements in its electoral fortunes or record even point five per cent of votes. He was speaking to Joy News regarding an Accra Fast Track High Court decision that annuls the removal of the Greater Accra Regional executive of the PNC from office in November last year. The Halm Quartey-led executive was accused of deliberately delaying a regional congress in the run-up to the party’s National Delegates Congress held at Bolgatanga. They were subsequently removed from office by the Former National Chairman of the PNC, Mr. Gabriel Pwamang. But the court, presided over by Justice Ofori Atta declared the action illegal and the removal of the executive null and void. The court also ruled that the congress that elected new executive was illegal and that Mr. Quartey and his executive are the constitutionally elected executive of the party until new elections are held.Following the ruling, Mr. Halm Quartey told Joy News that the executive will concentrate on building the party to try and increase its chances in the December elections. He said the organisational structure of the party had broken down.Story by Malik Abass Daabu
