The Celebrity Golf Club's maiden Monthly Medal competition in the year tees off at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, January 30.
Mr Ato Endmann, General Manager of the Club, who announced this at Tema on Monday, said about 100 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day Medal Play competition.
He noted that even though the competition is a Club affair, other golfers from other Clubs in the Greater Accra Region have been invited to participate.Mr Endmann said the competition, which would be sponsored by the Club, would be played in accordance with the Club's local rules.
The General Manager said some of the golfers who had already registered for the competition include Captain Pierre Coussey, Abdul-Aziz Amankwah, Joe Ohemeng, Akwasi Opoku, Joe Ampofo, Oswald Amuzu and Martin Osei, all of the Celebrity Golf Club.
The Tema Country Golf Club to be led by their captain, Kwaku Okyere would include Paul Owusu-Baah, Alex Fiagomey and William Asiedu Yeboah.
Mike Aggrey, Matthias Dorfe, Mike Ezan, Paul List and Daniel List are also expected to feature for Achimota Golf Club.Dr Kobina Quansah, President of the Celebrity Golf Club is expected to deliver his New Year Message at the event.Golfers use Medal events to sharpen their swings for major competitions.Source: GNA
