The Parliamentary Ad-hoc Committee hearing the censure motion against the beleaguered Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta will resume sitting today after suspending proceedings for one day.
On Thursday, November 17, officials of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) will appear before it.
Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a member of the Committee announced this in a social media post on Wednesday.
The North Tongu MP disclosed that proceedings for the day will begin at 11:00am.

“The Ken Ofori-Atta Vote of Censure Parliamentary Committee resumes public hearings tomorrow at 11am.
“We expect PIAC and GNPC to appear before us,” he said.

The Committee began its work on Tuesday, with proponents (Majority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and Cassiel Ato Forson) adducing evidence for their motion.
Meanwhile, there were heated exchanges between the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, counsel for the embattled Finance Minister.

The heated exchanges ensued when Mr. Ablakwa asked a question about the controversial National Cathedral.
However, Mr. Ofori-Atta’s lawyer (Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko) strongly opposed the question. He suggested that the North Tongu MP could organise a press conference to make those political statements.

“We strongly object this line of questioning. He can hold a press conference and talk about this, not here. We are here for serious allegations that have been leveled against the Finance Minister,” he said.
However, Mr. Ablakwa objected to Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko’s comments.
The outspoken lawmaker also in his objection said, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko cannot teach the Committee how to do its work.
He added that he would not be schooled on his duties as an MP by the lawyer.
“You cannot come here and throw your weight about. You will not teach me how to do my work. You are not the chairman of this Committee,” he replied.
In a sharp reply, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko told the MP that he does not have enough weight to throw about, "I am only 78 kilos."
