Dr. Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Independent Power Producers of Ghana, has donated 20 streetlights worth GH¢14,000 to UHAS to improve campus lighting and enhance security.
This donation addresses a critical need for better illumination, which directly impacts the safety and well-being of the university community.
Jemima Misonu Akporlu, Vice President of UHAS Alumni, presented the donation on Dr. Apetorgbor's behalf.
She highlighted a recent incident where four students were attacked by unknown assailants while returning to their hostel from campus.
Ms. Akporlu emphasised that Dr. Apetorgbor is a supportive friend of the university, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and safety for students and staff alike.

She expressed deep gratitude for this significant contribution and assured that the lights would be promptly installed to boost campus security and improve night-time visibility.
Prof. Aziato also took the opportunity to appeal to other organisations and benevolent individuals to support the university in similar impactful ways.
