Government is being urged to be thorough in rectifying the problems associated with the implementation of the single spine salary structure so far.
Speaking on Joy Business analysis programme, Business Trends, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Analysis, Dr. Joe Abbey says government risks compounding the situation if not well managed.
He was commenting on the current challenges with the payment of teachers’ February salaries after they were migrated onto SSSS.
He suspects the challenges arise from government’s attempt to stabilize the economy and to keep deficit targets and expenditure in check.
He expressed worry that there could be problems with payment arrears which government must grabble with and urged a thorough solution to the problem.
Dr. Abbey is however calling on government to engage further with the teachers so as to allay their fears.
