The Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu has asked the Ghana Police Service to help deal with the indiscriminate use of motorbikes by Muslim youth.
The Chief Imam is unhappy with the way the youth ride motorbikes during processions and funerals, threatening their own lives and those of others.
He expressed the concern during a meeting with the Inspector General of Police today.
Joy News' Hannah Odame reported that the Commander of Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Angwubutoge Awuni said his office will collaborate with the leadership of the Muslim community because they also see the trend as worrying.
He is considering a dispatch unit in the service to lead in such event to prevent the youth from misbehaving.
