Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, has been officially inducted into office.
The induction follows his appointment by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Vice Admiral Seth Amoama was inducted at the Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church at Burma Camp with two other officials: Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) and Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh, Chief of Staff (COS), whose induction took place at the General Headquarters.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, some Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, senior officers, heads of sister security services and some members of the diplomatic community.
Speaking on the theme for the event, “You are a chosen vessel of Christ,” Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana, urged the three Generals to be strong and courageous for the Lord who chose them to serve the state, will be their guide in all their endeavors.
Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante said the three have been ordained by God to serve their country. He, therefore, urged them to serve the state diligently, always putting the interest of Ghanaians first.
Gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour, Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, urged the newly inducted leaders to continue to give off their best for the success of the Ghana Armed Forces and the country.
He further called on the general public to give the newly ordained leaders the needed support to efficiently carry out their duties.
The Chief of Defence Staff on behalf of the three pledged to work in honour of GAF and the country.
