A retired Educationist Mrs. Patience Arthur Baidoo says proper child upbringing has become very difficult for some parents these days, because of issue of human rights and child rights abuses.
Speaking on Adom FM’s weekend family programme dubbed Asetenapa , Mrs. Arthur Baidoo said some indecent behaviours we see about children in our society today could have arisen from the fact that their parents failed to discipline the children, for fear of violating his rights.
She said the enforcement of child rights is a good course but there are no responsibility alignments which make it difficult for the child to know what it takes to live right.
The retired educationist also blamed the decision by some parents who focus too much attention on book studies, which she noted as one of the reasons why children go naughty saying, the right future of a child does not only depend on academic performance.
Mrs. Baidoo said parents must get to understand that the life of a responsible person entails both education and proper upbringing from home.
