North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has voiced dissatisfaction with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice's (CHRAJ) report exonerating Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng from allegations of holding a double identity.

In an interview on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Monday, November 25, Mr Ablakwa expressed surprise at CHRAJ’s findings, claiming the Commission "only scratched the surface" of the allegations concerning double identity and conflict of interest.

He argued that CHRAJ failed to fully examine all the evidence presented, relying solely on passport documentation.

“My petition succeeded in a larger part regarding procurement breaches and corruption-related offences. However, on the conflict of interest allegations against Rev. Kusi Boateng, CHRAJ failed to confirm the allegations despite the substantial evidence I submitted,” he stated.

The lawmaker however noted that while CHRAJ referenced Rev. Kusi Boateng’s appointment to the National Cathedral Board under that name, his diplomatic passport was issued in the name of Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

The report concluded that Rev. Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, holds a single passport under the latter name and has not been issued a passport as Kusi Boateng.

Mr Ablakwa, however, maintained that CHRAJ overlooked other identification documents, such as a driver’s license and Ghana Card, which he submitted as part of his petition in January 2023.

Mr Ablakwa originally called for CHRAJ to investigate Rev. Kusi Boateng over allegations of multiple identities, conflict of interest, and other alleged criminal dealings connected to his role as Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.
