The Ghana Football Association has appointed Chris Hughton as the new head coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties.
The decision to appoint Hughton comes following the resignation of Otto Addo as the team's head coach after Ghana's exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Addo was head of the team with assistance from George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani after being appointed in March with Hughton serving as the technical advisor of the team.
However, after more than a month since the job became vacant, the Ghana FA has now announced Hughton to be the next man in the dugouts for the Black Stars.
A statement on the FA's website read, "The Ghana Football Association has the pleasure to appoint Chris Hughton as Head Coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties.
"The appointment is in line with the vision of the GFA to continue with the project of building a formidable squad that started with Otto Addo in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament."
Just like they did under Otto Addo, Boateng and Didi Dramani will maintain their posts as the team's assistant coaches.
