The Head Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, Koforidua Central Branch, Rev. Alex Ofori-Amankwah has cautioned Christian women to desist from the habit of demanding money or any form of inducement from their husbands before giving them sex.
According to him, such practice is “evil” and equals to prostitution or otherwise known as ''Cash for Sex'', a habit of commercial sex workers and must be abhorred.
Rev. Ofori-Amankwah, who is also a former Eastern Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, attributed the rampant divorces suffered by several marriages in recent times to what he described as “cash for sex”. He therefore admonished Christian women to desist from it.
Rev. Alex Ofori- Amankwah gave the warning at a Lover’s Day program dubbed ''Me dofo pa'' ''True Love'' 2015 in Koforidua last Sunday.
‘‘Demanding for cash or any form of inducement from your husband as his wife before giving in to sex is barbaric or evil and equals to prostitution. Why must you collect money from your man before engaging in sex with him when he is married to you? Are you selling your body to him like prostitutes do in trade for sex or what?” he wondered.
''Such an attitude must not be tolerated at all, not in Christian homes because it's a recipe for disaster and leads to divorce'', he stressed.
He equally advised the youth not to indulge in such practice as it has the tendency to ruin their lives thereby destroying their future.
Marriage is a union between a man and a woman ordained by God with the aim of achieving procreation and living together in peace and harmony with each other for the rest of their lives, from the Christian point of view.
Unfortunately several factors have become a barrier to good marriage these days, he observed.
One of the such factors militating against the will of God when it comes to the concept of marriage, causing havoc to marriages even in Christian homes, he reiterated, is the habit of some wives demanding for money or any form of inducement from their husbands before sex. He insisted that the practice should be eschewed by all Christians.
The Me Dofo Pa” “True Love” 2015 program was initiated by Good life FM 105.5, a Koforidua based local radio station to sensitize the youth on how to deal with relationship issues.
The News Editor of Goodlife fm Ms. Obatiemaa Nana Yaa Asare, in an interview with journalists said her outfit believes the best way to deal with the rampant divorce cases in the Eastern Region was to come out with this sensitization.
In an unrelated development, Nana Adjei Perbi, a budding gospel music celebrity and a Minister of the Gospel dedicated his time during the Valentine singing and praising God amidst drama on various stages despite his busy schedules working as a staff of MTN Ghana.
He performed vivaciously on three separate platforms for the glory of God entertaining the youths and uplifting their spirits with love throughout the season of love.
