Right Reverend Livingston Buama, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana has urged Christians to be instruments of God's grace for the improvement of society.
He said Christians should not pray for themselves alone but they should intercede on behalf of others, the society and the country.
Rt. Rev. Buama was delivering the sermon at the 10th anniversary thanksgiving service of the EP Men's Fellowship on he theme: "Ask and it Shall be Given to You," at the end of their delegates' conference in Accra.
He said just as Abraham repeatedly interceded on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah when God was going to destroy the them, Christians should pray for others, as one person could bring salvation to others.
Rt. Rev. Buama said "As Christians, our prayers should not be concentrated on ourselves. We should pray for others instead of condemning or insulting them. We must lend support to others and intercede on their behalf."
He urged the public not to continue to highlight negative things but to consider problems as challenges and work to overcome them.
Rt. Rev. Buama said God had prepared a "highway" to Him through Christ and Christians should talk to God in a father-son relationship.
"Religion is not magic. Christianity is not magic. We must firmly position ourselves in Christ who is the fullness of God. We must ask Christ to dwell in us fully."
Rt. Rev. Buama advised the youth to shun negative lifestyles that had the tendency of leading them into trouble.
He urged the youth to avoid negative foreign cultures, saying, "learn those that would lead to the growth and development of the society."
The Conference was attended by over 100 delegates from all the nine presbyteries of the church and it provided a platform to review the performance of the Fellowship.
