A circuit court at Akim Swedru, has sentenced Nana Yaw Domena, a cobbler, to 13 years imprisonment for defiling a 13-year-old pupil.
Police Chief Inspector Benjamin Osei Kwadwo told the court presided over by Mr. Edward Bosompem Apenkwah that the complainant, grandmother of the victim, and the accused lived in the same vicinity at Akim Asene.
Prosecution said that about three months ago, Domena went to the house of the complainant to buy a cat and acquainted himself with the members of the house including the victim.
Chief Inspector Osei Kwadwo said the victim went to Domena's shop, had her shoes mended and requested for food from the accused.
Prosecution said the girl decided to relax at the shop after the accused gave her some food.
Chief Inspector Osei Kwadwo said at about 8.30pm on June 3, Domena lured the girl into his room and had sex with her till the following morning.According to prosecution, the girl on her way back home met the witness in the case who asked her where she was coming from.
The girl told the witness about the ordeal she went through following which Domena was arrested.Source: GNA
