The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, in commemoration of this year’s World Health Day, has donated some essential medical supplies to the Teshie Community Clinic at Teshie in the Greater Accra Region.
The items, which were accompanied by assorted Coca-Cola beverages and included disposable gloves, surgical masks, methylated spirit, drugs, soap and rolls of tissue.
They were donated to the clinic at a challenging time where most health facilities had been stretched out of resources at the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Francoise Cleland, the Human Resource Manager of the Company, he said they identify with the struggles of the health sector particularly in these unfamiliar times of a pandemic where every area of the economy has been hard hit.
“April 7, being World Health Day, we decided to observe it in a very special way by coming to your facility to express our appreciation to you as front-liners who have been at the forefront of the war against Covid-19, going all out to save lives. We also present these life-support logistics to aid in your work," she added.
Receiving the items on behalf of the clinic, Audrey Booham, the Administrator of the facility, expressed her outfit’s appreciation to the company for the massive support given.
This donation adds to the many health-centred projects Coca-Cola Ghana has embarked on in recent times. And salient among them is the cumulative contribution of ¢370,000 to the Ghana Covid-19 private sector fund for the management of Covid-19.
