The CEO of Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod) has said the activities of Board under the New Patriotic Party have been more successful than under the John Mahama-led government.
Joseph Boahene Aidoo said the plight of cocoa farmers in the country was worsened by John Mahama's administration to the point of near collapsed.
Speaking at a durbar of chiefs and residents of Wassa Atobiase in the Wassa East Constituency of the Western Region, he indicated that it was during the tenure of the NDC that the cocoa swollen shoot virus took over most cocoa farms in the country.
He said the agric sector was not booming and farmers were unable to benefit from the distribution of free fertiliser.
He stressed that under the Mahama-led government, there was no job for the youth in the agric sector.
However, Mr Aidoo said Cocobod under the Akufo-Addo government had taken pragmatic initiatives to rectify the situation.
He further stated that, the Akufo-Addo government has ensured the completion of developmental projects as part of his vision for a better Ghana such as the free SHS policy.
"When the NPP government was given the mandate in 2016, we have implemented Free SHS education irrespective of your political affiliation, ethnicity or any other discriminatory factors."
Mr Aidoo believes the party has already won the December polls due to the developmental projects the country has seen during the tenure of office of the NPP government.
