Coconut Grove Hotels (CGH,) a member of Groupe Nduom, will send one of its staff to watch this year’s World Cup in Brazil. The offer is going to all Groupe Nduom Companies.
Miss Helena Quansah of Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina in the Central region was picked as the winner of the all-expense-paid trip to Brazil to watch the World Cup.
Miss Quansah has been with the housekeeping department for the 18 years that she has worked with the Coconut Grove Beach Resort, Elmina.
Staff from the Hotel's’ branches in Accra, Obuasi, and Elmina who had worked for a minimum of five years were selected to enter a raffle. Also staff who during the last staff appraisal were ranked in category A and B were eligible to be picked as the lucky winner in the raffle draw.
Board chairperson of the Coconut Grove Hotels, Mrs. Yvonne Nduom noted that the staff are very special people to the hearts of the shareholders.
Mr. Ralph Ayitey, General Manager of Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra said the move is to serve as a motivation for their numerous staff, adding that Miss Quansah, who had worked with the hotel for nearly two decades, deserves her reward.
“This is the first time such a thing has been done in the hospitality industry in the country…it is an innovation. We do not only give our clients memories worth repeating but our staff too,” he said.
He said the winner is expected to go to Rio, relax, and enjoy the football season.
