According to the CEO, CODA has devised strategies to promote beach sports and green investments.

“What we intend to do is to improve soil base management and general environmental conditions at the beaches and we intend to promote green investment. We also intend to facilitate or promote job and income generating opportunities from plastic waste management in the coastal areas.”

Mr. Shaib reiterated the commitment of the Authority to provide modern beach sports infrastructure as an avenue to promote tourism.

“We also intend to promote sports development and enhance the quality of social life of people in the beach communities through provision of beach sports facilities. What we intend to do as CODA is to have four stadia along our zone, our first interest is in Keta where we have beautiful white sand. When we have our beach stadia, we can get a lot from it.”

The engagement with MMDCEs is expected to enhance collaboration and cooperation between CODA and MMDAs in the implementation of IPEP.
