Joint Communique issued at the close of the meeting between the President of the Republic of Côte D’Ivoire and the President of the Republic of Ghana and H.E. Mr. Kofi Annan in Geneva, 11 May 2015.
- At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Kofi Annan, the President of Cote D’Ivoire, H.E. Mr. Alassane Ouattara, and the President of Ghana, H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama, met on 11 May, 2015 in Geneva to discuss the dispute relating to the delimitation of the maritime boundary between the two countries.
- Following the recent ruling by the Special Chamber of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) on a request for provisional measures, the two Presidents, true to the mutual vision of regional integration have decided to engage in a process aimed at achieving cooperation as prescribed by the ITLOS.
- The delimitation of the border remains the objective of the Parties.
- At the close of the meeting, the two Presidents reiterated their commitment to promoting discussions that favour regional integration for the benefit of their respective countries.
- The two Presidents thanked Mr. Annan and his Foundation for facilitating the meeting and expressed their will to continue to draw on his vast and rich experience in promoting the cooperation between the two countries.
