The number of companies trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange has increased to 35.
This follows the listing of investment company Mega African Capital on the local bourse on Wednesday April 23.
Mega Africa's listing makes it the first of investment company to list on the market in Ghana and also first to list on the market in two years.
Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, Ekow Afedzie tells Joy Business they are working hard to attract more of such companies on the market.
“We will be doing a lot more marketing, talking to potential funds. There are many funds in Ghana, what we have to do is talk to them about they going public, listing on the market and getting that credibility, and investors having confidence in such entities.”
Managing Director of Mega African Capital, Kwesi Amonoo Neizer tells Joy Business the listing would help other investors to actively trade in the company.
Meanwhile, seven companies are expected to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange before the end of this year.
Ekow Afedzis says the GSE has come very far with these listings.
