ComUnity Spaces has held its quarterly networking event at their East Legon Premises under the theme “Spark Session”, bringing together entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The latest networking session focused on inspiring conversations around starting, sustaining, and scaling a business in Ghana’s dynamic landscape. The event attracted participants from various sectors, including logistics, consultancy, tech, fashion, and food processing.

Managing Director of ComUnity Spaces, Maud Ntow Acquah, said the initiative was created to fill a gap observed among clients who use the co-working space but often operate in isolation.

“We realized many of our clients rarely got the opportunity to connect. So, we created these quarterly events among other initiatives to build that sense of community,” she explained.

She emphasized the need for entrepreneurs to value collaboration and community as vital tools for growth. According to her, such partnerships provide entrepreneurs, particularly novices, with the support system needed to steer their businesses in the uncertain landscape of Ghana's business sector.

“Building your network is just as essential as building your product. These interactions help you solve problems faster and open doors you wouldn’t have found alone,” she said.

Larry Attipoe, the keynote speaker at the event, shared some in-depth knowledge on growth and purpose. He highlighted that “Purpose without action becomes a philosophy. But when paired with action, it becomes transformation. Growth today means adapting your skills, challenging your comfort zones, and staying student-minded, even when you’re the expert.”

He also indicated that co-working spaces like ComUnity Spaces aren’t just about desks, they are about people; shared space leads to shared strength.

For his closing remarks, he shared, "In a changing world, clarity is your compass, resilience is your engine, growth is your journey, and purpose is your fuel."

During a panel discussion, Florence Ahulu, a Senior Manager at AOB & Associates, offered practical advice on financial discipline, cautioning entrepreneurs against mixing personal and business finances.

"If you want your business to grow and be taken seriously, separate your personal spending from your business accounts. Financial clarity is non-negotiable," she stressed.

Also speaking on the panel, Mr. Philip Bonney, Managing Director of D-Keb Express Global Limited, highlighted the strategic power of partnerships.

He indicated that "Sometimes we focus too much on raising capital when what we really need is collaboration. Working with others can open new markets and generate fresh revenue streams,” he said.

On his part, Gad Ocran, CEO of Thrive Africa, emphasized the importance of being locally grounded in startup solutions instead of chasing global trends. Jemima Alemna, CEO of JayFord Company, also shared the importance of keeping a day job while pursuing the entrepreneurial dream.

The quarterly networking session forms part of ComUnity Spaces’ broader effort to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem where collaboration, mentorship, and innovation thrive.
