Match day 15 of the Onetouch Premier League recorded 15 goals as the curtain on the first round of matches came to an exciting end on Sunday.But controversy heralded the final whistle from three venues, where match officials were held hostage for considerable times for their alleged ‘unwarranted’ roles in the final results of their respective games.From the Ohene Djan Stadium, bottom club Accra Great Olympics’ officials and fans sought the heads of Referee John Attikese and his assistants for allowing ‘too much time added on’ (5 minutes) during which Tema Youth snatched a much desired equaliser after substitute Paa Joe Kumah had put the home fans in the lead in the second half.At Sekondi’s Essipong Stadium, second-placed Liberty Professionals knocked in a late equaliser (90th minute) to settle at two-all with homesters Hasaacas. That result also did not sit well with the homesters whose officials and fans alleged the goal was scored from an offside positioning and so prevented the match officials from entering the dressing room after the match.And also at the El Wak Stadium in Accra where Berekum Arsenals suffered a lone goal loss to Zaytuna FC, officials and followers of Arsenals asked for the blood of match officials for also allowing an alleged offside goal.Elsewhere, Asante Kotoko maintained top position on the league with seven clear points, (36 points as against 29 by second-placed Liberty Professionals) after beating visiting Real United by two goals at the Baba Yara Stadium with Jordan Opoku and Eric Bekoe getting on the scoring sheet.Accra Hearts of Oak continued their nightmarish experience in the league, squandering several goal chances against Real Sportive at Tema.
