Stonebwoy’s American concert has added to the number of shows that have been put on hold due to the spread of the coronavirus.
In a press release, the management team of the artiste revealed that the US government banned all large gatherings in the country after coronavirus was labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
“Our team has tried everything in our ability to make this show happen, however, the government has restricted every large gathering at this time as seen on every major news,” the statement read.
However, the team is prepping to announce new dates when the virus is conquered and the ban lifted.
Stonebwoy is not the only person who has cancelled his show. Nigerian artiste Davido also announced he has postponed his North American tour due to the virus.
Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and others, who were supposed to perform in various places in the US, have also suspended their shows.
Movie premieres for No Time To Die, Fast and Furious 9, The New Mutants and many others have been postponed indefinitely.
The biggest yearly concert in the US, Coachella, which was scheduled to take place in April, has been postponed to October.
Meanwhile, Ghana recorded its first cases of Coronavirus days after WHO declared it as a pandemic.
This increases the number of affected countries to 122 across the globe with more than 132,000 infections confirmed and more than 4,900 deaths so far.
