An Ambassador designate, Sam P. Yalley says accusations  of of corruption leveled against  President John Mahama are manufactured as no single evidence could be pin-pointed as to the corrupt activity he is involved in.

"Manufactured accusation of corruption is not doing this country any good", he intimated as he contributed to a political discussion on Radio Gold's Current Affairs programme, 'Alhaji and Alhaji" Saturday on issues on Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).

Citing the establishment of the presidential commission on judgment debts as a clear example which exposed people, who have committed blunders in public office as a clear example of fighting corruption, Mr. Yalley noted that there has never been any government like the Mahama-led administration that has persistently fought corruption in the country.

According to him, the lack of legal framework in establishing GYEEDA led to the creation of avenues for people to create, loot and share government funds meant to solve the unemployment problems in the country.

Mr. Yalley, who is also a public interest lawyer, is further of the view that however faulty the GYEEDA programme is the programme should not be scrapped.

To him, the money given to private companies under GYEEDA should be turned into a corporate loan for them and given re-payment schedule so that the companies would be re-engineered to sustain the programme, hoping that in ten years, there would be a turn around.

Fifteen persons have been implicated for financial impropriety following investigations conducted by various institutions including a P.V. Obeng-led committee constituted by President Mahama.

They include officials of service providers under GYEEDA, such as Zoomlion, RLG, Asongtaba, Zeera Group and Better Ghana Management Services Limited.

Government has given the assurance that it will deal decisively with persons found culpable in the GYEEDA saga as part of measures in fighting corruption in the country.
