A deputy Director of National Security at the Tema Port has been arrested.
The unnamed official was picked up on Monday together with three other officials of the Customs Division of Ghana Revenue Authority, for various underhand dealings at the port.
They were arrested by the Presidential Taskforce instituted to deal with issues leading to loss of revenue to the state. The Taskforce is chaired by the Chief of Staff, Prosper Kwaku Bani.
Deputy Information Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed disclosed this at the daily briefing at the Flagstaff House on Wednesday.
He said the arrests formed part of efforts to block all revenue leakages in the country.
Mr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed said a video footage capturing some activities of the officials had been obtained by the Taskforce and will soon be released to the media.
