A member of the Council of State, Guli Naa Seidu Braimah has called for the review of the country's procurement law.According to him the threshold given to Municipal assemblies to award contracts is too small and does not give real meaning to the decentralisation concept.Guli Naa Seidu Braimah made the statement at the 2nd ordinary meeting of the first session of the Wa Municipal Assembly.Upper West Regional Correspondent, Rafiq Salam reported the assembly is unable to meet its revenue targets having collected only GHC104,406 at the end of July out of a target of GHC321,799, representing just 32 per cent. The Council of State Member believes the performance of the assembly in terms of revenue mobilization is not good enough and every effort must be made to reverse the trend.
