Kofi Sarfo, a 22-year-old farmer, who drew a cutlass and threatened some youth playing football on a field he claimed was his, has been bonded to be of good behaviour by the Asamankese Circuit court.
If within six months, Sarfo misbehaved in any way, he would go to jail for two years in hard labour.
Sarfo who was charged with threat of harm pleaded guilty with explanation.
Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah that on January 3, some youth of the village went to play football at Akofikrom in the West Akyem District.
He said when they got there they found Sarfo removing the goal posts and when asked why he was doing that he did not mind them but went ahead and removed them.
The youth reported the conduct of Sarfo to the village elders who accompanied the youth to the park but did not meet him.
The prosecutor said the team went to his house but on seeing them, Sarfo rushed to his room and brought out a cutlass and threatened to kill anyone who dared to get near him.
He said the youth, over powered him and escorted him to the Asamankese Police Station with the cutlass and the knife.
On interrogation by the police, Sarfo said the field belonged to him and he wanted to build a house on it.
