A Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Amo-Yartey, has ordered a 29-year-old auto sprayer to be held in prison for 50 years in hard labour for robbery. Thomas Frimpong alias "Owen" denied the offence. His three accomplices, identified only as Tuga, Issah and Billy are on the run. Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Otoo-Boison, a State Attorney, told the court that the complainant, Kwame Atuahene, is an immigration officer working with the Kumasi Office of the Ghana Immigration Service. At about midnight on May 9, last year, the complainant was attacked by the convict and his gang with knives and machetes whilst on his way to meet some colleagues he was expecting from Accra. They robbed him of his Samsung cell phone and cash of GH¢700.00. Atuahene made a report to the police and about a month later identified Frimpong, who had been arrested and was on police parade.
