A Sekondi District Magistrates' Court on Friday remanded Solomon Amihere, a driver, into custody for careless driving.
The plea of the accused was not taken and he is to re-appear on November 26 this year.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said on November 11 this year, the accused drove a Nissan Urvan Bus at top speed on the Cape Coast-Takoradi highway.
He said about 25 passengers including children and toddlers were on board the bus.
Chief Inspector Hedidor said the brakes of the bus failed when he reached the toll bridge at Beposo and ran into a stationary articulated truck, killing five passengers on the spot.
He said the dead were conveyed to the mortuary of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.Source: GNA
