The Cocoa Affairs court in Accra on Monday ruled that Nii Okaidja III is the rightful Gbese Mantse of the Ga State and not Nii Ayi Bonte, known in private life as Tommy Okine.
Nii Ayi Bonte and Nii Okaidja III have been locked in a case over who is the legitimate Gbese Mantse.
The court presided over by judge Mensah noted that Nii Okaidja III is the rightful Gbese Mantse and must be recognised as such.
Speaking to Citi News after the court hearing on Monday, Mr. Bill Annan, also known as Nii Okaidja III, noted that the ruling by the court is a clear indication that he has always been the rightful Gbese Mantse.
He mentioned that unlike Nii Ayi Bonte II, he has gone through all the customary processes without exception, and has been recognised as the rightful Gbese Mantse.
“Well as you know I was installed properly, I went through all the procedure and most importantly I was installed as Gbese Mantse,” he said.
He stated that Nii Ayi Bonte must cease carrying himself as the Gbese Mantse because that will be in contempt of court.
