Statistics from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has revealed that eight more people have died of the Covid-19 pandemic.
These casualties were recorded between January 29 and February 1. Ghana's Covid-19 death toll currently stands at 1,412.
On its website, the GHS indicated that active cases are 1,191. Out of this figure, 10 are said to be severe while 3 other cases are critical. All 16 regions in the country and the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) are battling with active cases.

According to the Ghana Health Service, 165 new cases were recorded as of February 1. The Greater Accra Region topped the list with 127 new cases. The KIA recorded 25 new cases.
The additional cases bring Ghana's confirmed Covid-19 cases to 157,541 since the emergence of the virus in March 2020.
So far, the GHS has discharged a total of 154,938 people who have recovered from the virus.
