Ghana's Covid-19 active cases currently stand at 4,027, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
In its latest update, the Service noted that as of December 20, a total of 923 new cases had been recorded.
As of December 19, it was reported that the country's new and active cases were 321 and 3,165 respectively.
Per the statistics, the country is seeing a surge in the cases recorded.
This brings the confirmed Covid-19 cases since the emergence of the virus in March last year, to 135,278.

On its website, the GHS revealed that the Greater Accra, Eastern, Ashanti, and Volta regions as well as the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) recorded both new and active cases.
The Bono, Bono East, Western recorded active cases with no new case.

According to the data provided by the GHS, two more individuals have died due to the virus; bringing the total death toll to 1,271.
Meanwhile, 59 more individuals who fell prey to the virus have recovered and have been discharged; also bringing the total number of those discharged to 129,980.
As of December 19, the Service disclosed that 129,921 people had been discharged from the various health institutions.
On the other hand, the Ghana Health Service has reviewed its isolation guidelines for international arrivals testing positive for the Covid-19 virus at the Kotoka International Airport
In a press statement signed by Director-General, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, the Service noted that effective December 24, it will introduce home isolation for international arrivals who are vaccinated but have contracted the virus and are asymptomatic.
“Persons following assessment by the Port Health Unit of the Ghana Health Service and found to be eligible will be allowed to undergo isolation in their homes. All such passengers will be briefed on the self-isolation protocols.”
The Service, however, added that such individuals will be subjected to strict monitoring to ensure compliance with the protocols.
