The Covid-19 Private Sector Fund has launched the Feed-A-Kayayo project to feed and support head porters in areas undergoing lockdown, to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus.
The project, which is in collaboration with the Commissioner of Ghana Revenue Authority, Julie Essiam and the government, will begin on April 1, 2020 and could be extended even after the lockdown period.
Feed-A-Kayayo aims at providing a meal a day to head porters (Kayayei) at various locations in areas impacted by the directive to restrict movements.
Already, Devtraco, Plus, Ghana Association of Bankers, Glico Insurance, Ecobnak Ghana Ltd and an anonymous person/entity, have donated towards the project.
