The Volta Regional Chairman of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Prince Ahiadzro, has announced his resignation from his position.
He has also announced his retirement from active politics.
These were contained in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the Party dated March 1, 2007 and copied to the National Secretary and the Press.
He said the decision was taken following a careful examination of all the factors that would determine his suitability and effectiveness as head of a political party considering his personal concerns as a businessman.
Mr. Ahiadzro said he has therefore, resigned his position as the Regional Chairman with effect from March 6, 2007.
He expressed his profound gratitude to all and sundry that supported him in an effort to build the party in the region during his tenure of office.
