CPP sets Trade Fair Center agog

Convention Peoples Party (CPP) on Saturday set the Accra International Trade Fair Center agog through political activism as the party’s Extra-Ordinary National Delegates Congress begins. Drumming and dancing; shouts of accolades of contesting candidates; brandishing of CPP miniature flags and movement of leading personalities as well as attempts by some delegates to finalise registration formalities at the vicinity of the Ghana’s Trade Center venue for the congress. The National Chairmanship contestants are daughter of the founder of the CPP, Ms Yaba Samia Nkrumah, MP for Jomoro; the former CPP Chairman Professor Edmund N. Delle; incumbent Chairman Ladi Nylander; and the current National Vice-Chairperson Madam Bentsi-Enchill. Three personalities are contesting for the General Secretary position; Mr Ekow Duncan, Mr Nii Akomfrah, and incumbent Mr Kobina Ivor Greenstreet. Two are contesting for the national Treasurer, Mr Kosi Dede, and Seth Gomnah, whilst three are contesting for the national organiser slot, Evelyn Alamisi Anabilla, Appiah Amankwah, and Abu Forgor. The rest are National Women’s organiser Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim-Haruna, Mary Ankumah Boackye-Boateng and Aisha Suley Futa. The National Youth Organiser contest is among Murtala Mohammed, Francis Opai Tetteh and Issifu Kadiri Abdula Rauf whilst six are contesting for the the Vice Chairmanship slot; Rodaline Ayana, Ibrahim M. Seidu, Susan Adu Amankwah, William Nana Buckman, Oteng Anane and Kojo Armah.
